Masters Hockey

Masters Hockey is available to anyone aged 34 years or older and is available to players of all skill levels and fitness, male and female, players who have never stopped playing or who players have not played for many years. The link to the ACT Masters website is :- https://www.actmastershockey.com/

MONDAY NIGHT MASTERS HOCKEY

ANU has teams entered in a social competition run by ACT Masters Hockey on Monday nights played at Lyneham, Tuggeranong and Goulburn which runs from February to December each year. The competition is divided into quarters, roughly Q1 February to March, Q2 April to June, Q3 July to September and Q4 October to December.

ANU currently has three teams entered in the current Q1 competition which is divided into three divisions, matches are due to start on 3 February 2025. Normally ANU enters two teams into the Q2, Q3 and Q4 competitions which is a single division competition.

Each year ACT Masters select teams to represent the ACT in various age groups in the Australian Masters National Championships. This year the Nationals are in Newcastle at the Newcastle Hockey Centre and will be held in September/October. ACT Masters are planning to enter teams in the 34+, 39+, 44+, 49+, 54+, 59+, 64+, 69+ and 74+ age groups. The dates for each age group are as follows :-

  • 34+ to 49+ (incl): TBA
  • 54+ to 64+ (incl): TBA
  • 69+ to 74+ (incl): TBA

Nominations for this year’s Championships open on 1 February and close on 28 February.

ACT MASTERS HOCKEY CANBERRA CUP

The ACT Masters Canberra Cup, previously known as the Tradies Cup, is on 1 & 2 March this year by the ACT Masters Hockey Association and involves players and teams from the ACT region and surrounding areas. It is open to all players 34 years old and older of all skill levels and fitness and is run in two divisions and games are played at Lyneham. Interested players are placed in appropriate teams by ACT Masters. It is hoped that we will enter an ANU team this year, otherwise players can nominate to play in general ACT teams, details TBA.
